Feeling a bit weepy, I just need to get this out:

I started feeling a bit pudgy around the middle the week before Thanksgiving. I took a prego test on a whim and got a BFP. I was a bit shocked because I haven't had cycle since my last DS was born over a year ago, but not that shocked since we haven't been trying to prevent. So I have no idea whatsoever when I got pregnant. I've tried to figure it out from symptoms and such, but I can rationalize being due anywhere from late June to early August.  That just seems like such a HUGE window to me! Its driving me crazy not knowing. I don't have any health insurance so I can't afford an ultrasound and the local crisis pregnancy center won't see me because I'm not considering abortion (which I don't fault them for). I'm assuming my midwife would be able to tell how far along I am eventually by my fundal height, which is usually pretty right on. (I normally do homebirths and don't have ultrasounds.) But then I have a fear of having twins, because it runs in my family (I seriously think I'm going to have twins every time I get preggo, lol), so I have this worry that I would be preggo with twins and not be able to tell I am measuring large because we don't know my EDD. Then we would be unaware of any additional risks and such with twins. I know, I am probably sounding ridiculous...preggo hormone overload :\  I guess the only thing I can really do is go in to see my midwife.

Thanks for listening.

Do you qualify for medicaid?  That would be the first thing I would look into, if you want an ultra-sound.  Also, your mid-wife might or should have access to one!

You don't sound crazy.  You sound like a woman asking all the right questions.  You need to know your EDD and you need to know if there are twins.  ;)
