I've read good things about liquid chlorophyll for pregnancy. Who here takes it? Why? When did you start it? Which brand?

I will be 30 weeks Friday.

I took chlorophyll starting in the 2nd tri with DD. These are the main reasons why: http://wholesomewomanhood.com/day-5-liquid-chlorophyll/

I would take a tablespoon mixed with a glass of water in the morning with my breakfast. I especially liked how good it is for helping with blood regeneration--i hoped this would help me feel better faster after the birth and i believe it did. I also like how the high vitamin k content is good for my bones and of course the iron content is helpful during pregnancy.

Me!  Hoping it helps my platelet count.  We'll see...

I couldn't tell you which brand off-hand, it was the only brand my co-op had.  It's spearmint flavored.  I've gotten used to the taste and figured out the least amount of water I need to choke it down.  ;)

I *just* heard of this and am trying it, like GISDiva, to see if it helps mitigate the risk of low platelet counts. I am not *super* optimistic about actually boosting platelets, since platelet issues in the US are only very rarely due to nutritional deficiency.

But I figure, if the risk of low-platelets is high bleeding, then anything that helps me replenish that lost blood is helpful.

BTW- I had been trying to just choke it down, but today I made the mix as described in the bottle but over ice and added about 3oz apple juice. Ahh... much better! I bet pineapple would work too, but not OJ.

I love the one I take, it's derived from Stinging Nettle, & it's concentrated so you only put drops into juice and you taste nothing.  It's really easy to take.  I use oj or apple juice and although it turns the juice green, you can't taste it.  The brand is Herbs Etc.  It's in a small tincture bottle and you can find it at Whole Foods.  I take it because my doctor recommended it.

Thank you, Maria! That is exactly what I was looking for. I had read that there was a nettle based chlorophyll out there but haven't been able to find it!

I take it during my whole pgs. Started half way through my 4th pg. I was getting extremely dizzy to the point of falling over. Now if I miss a day or two I notice I start to get dizzy. This is my third pg I've taken it with. It also helps in the beginning for constipation and after baby for the same reason. I take a generic brand from my health food store. Mint is better with just water, but original is better in oj I think.
