Last night, my husband brought home two carry-out pizzas.  I am 10 weeks today, I've been too tired to cook anything.  I opened a box and saw a piece left.  It had sat out all night, but I so stupidly didn't think anything of it because I popped it in the microwave for about 30 seconds.  Now, I'm over-analyzing everything and wondering if everything was zapped enough.

What toppings were on the pizza? I've eaten pepperoni pizza that has been out all night... whistling.gif  I wouldn't worry about it.

The toppings were cheese, green peppers, mushrooms and dried bits of sausage.  After I pulled it out of the microwave, it was very hot.  I would not give it a second thought were I not pregnant.  Now everything seems like a potentially life-altering hazard.

We eat pizza that was left out all night all the time.  I think you are probably fine.

Excited, anxious and proud to be pregnant for the first time! My partner and I can't wait to meet the little boy sometime around Sept 20th.

Lilimamita, did you eat it while pregnant without any problems?  This listeria fear of mine is getting out of control as is the guilt for being so so stupid as to slip up over something like this.  I am usually so meticulous about this.

Listeria can grow in the fridge, so honestly if the meat was contaminated it would be regardless. But you put it in the microwave so I wouldn't worry about it. That would kill it!

When I get super paranoid, I just think of all the places around the world where pregnant women do all the things we're warned against in the US. Then I feel better!

You will be fine. :-) Deeeeeep breaths....

You're fine. I did it all the time with my first and also now with my current pregnancy. The microwave does kill most things anyways. I wouldn't worry at all.

Good point.  It was "Little Caesars."  And, you're right!  Maybe it was fake meat.  Indestructible meat crumbles...mmmmm...kid.gif
