I threw my back out and I'm in excruciating pain. I was alone with my son for most of the day and tomorrow morning my husband has to go out of town. I can barely walk. All I can do is lie on the couch and cry and it is freaking my son out (he's three). I even screamed at him earlier. I pretty much suck as a mom right now.

It's sciatica. I can't take anything for it. I have been to the chiro but it's still very bad. I have no idea how I'm going to survive the weekend. Ice pack on it now. The pain is horrible.

Oh, I'm 24 weeks preggo tomorrow.

Just needed to vent.

Huge hugs Dalia!! I've had similar days, running out the clock with my 2 year old, just trying to survive until DH came home. I hope the pain passes for you soon. All I got is hugs for you!

You poor, poor thing. I had sciatica a few years ago when I wasn't pregnant, and I thought I would DIE. And people think labor hurts. HA!

Hang in there Dalia!  It's hard having little kids while pregnant.  Really hard and creates added stress.  Don't beat yourself up.  Just maybe play some relaxing music and keep the toys, coloring books etc. near the couch where you'll be laying.  At 3, I know, they're much more demanding.  Feel better soon...sciatica is awful! Sending you healing vibesgoodvibes.gif

If you can manage, look up "stretches for sciatica"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5kcxccYHBA

That link is for a YouTube and there are many others..  Some simple stretches can be a big relief!

I broke down and took some Tylenol. Thought I would never do it while preggo but I was not functioning at all. Thanks so much for the support.

If ice feels good than do that, but a heating pad has also helped my sciatica a lot.

Thanks so much, PM. I think I'm gonna try and go swimming tomorrow and see if that helps. I HATE not being able to exercise at all. I was exercising every day and now I'm down for the count. I'm also so disappointed that I took Tylenol but it sooooo took the edge off. I'm really hoping tomorrow is better. :-/

Dalia! I'm so sorry to hear this!  Try not to be too hard on yourself regarding the Tylenol.  You have to be able to function.  I am sending mass amounts of healing vibes your way. I have never had sciatica but maybe a warm bath? I hope you feel tons better soon!

Do NOT feel bad about taking Tylenol. There are worse things in your water no doubt. Seriously, Tylenol is totally safe for baby!

Don't worry Dalia!  I had a horrible splitting headache today and broke down for the Tylenol too.  I also never thought I would do that, but you have to be able to function.  See if any of Katy Bowman's DVD's look like they apply to you - her stuff is amazing and really works. https://www.alignedandwell.com/shop/

I get those crappy headaches too. Right when my second tri started I have them just about every damn day!! I would drink a little caffeine and then work out and that would get rid of them... But right now I can't work out so I have the headache AND the backpain!!!! :-(
