I just had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks and everything looked normal, but they found a cyst on the umbilical cord.  They said not to worry and that it should go away on its own, but if it doesn't it could mean chromosomal problems.  The articles I read online from medical journals say there is no correlation between cysts found in the first trimester and chromosomal abnormalities, but they were small sample sizes so I'm still worried.  Has anyone had this before in the first trimester?

@Cynthia Mosher - Yes I joined the May DDC, but I posted the question in this more general pregnancy forum in hopes that more people would see it.  I posted the same question on another website, but haven't gotten any responses there either. Maybe it's not as common as the doctor said it is? I'll probably just tell myself that there's nothing to worry about since I won't know until my next ultrasound and subsequent blood test if the cyst is still present.
