My last AF was 9/10/13. On 10/10/13 I had a little brown discharge (old blood). Both last night's "First Response" pregnancy test and this morning's pg test at the health dept. were negative.I am a 43 year mother of 5 ( 22,18, 10,10, 8) and granny of 1 (2 months old). I have been a single mama for more years than not. My boyfriend and I have been together for 10 months...we don't use any birth control (other than him sometimes pulling-out).My boyfriend has never fathered a child and believes he is infertile. I am having what has always been conclusive early signs of pregnancy for me (tender swollen breast including nipples, darkening nipples, fatigue, frequent urination, mood swings, occasional feelings of nausea, a general almost flu-like feeling, slight abdominal bloating, constipation).Anyone else going through this/gone through this?
No need to apologize. It feels good to have someone comment at all...and even moreso for you to say it sounds like pregnancy to you. it feels like pregnancy to me :-) Though, because I have never gone through any peri-menopausal symptoms prior to possibly now (?) I am trying not to get my hopes up.My boyfriend thinks (and he's REALLY hoping) I am pregnant and the tests were negative because it was too early and I should test again in 2 weeks.Thank you for your support. I am praying to be Blessed with a healthy baby.
I personally know 3 people (ages 42 44 and 48) who thought it was peri-menopause and ended up being pregnant. My favorite of them is my great aunt who thought at 48 she was going through menopause and went to the doctor for stomach aches. She was told she's around 7 months pregnant .
Mama to my little Lily (09/2010), and a sweet baby boy (12/2012)
Thank you, Lilly Kay! I love that story about your Great-Aunt...thank you for sharing it. I found out I was pg with my 8 y/o daughter at 24 weeks, by feeling her move. The reason it took me so long to know then was, I was bf-ing my 17 month old twin son's...so I only had 3 very short irregular periods during that year.I attributed my fatigue to having twin toddlers. I really do feel like I am pregnant. Though I am trying very hard not to get my hopes up.Oh, the waiting to re-test....quite a test of my patience.
