I have 4 older boys and finally got a girl 3 years ago by timing our BD 6 days before O.

We wanted to try for another girl, but, well, for various reasons, ended up not having very optimal timing... Wanting to see via testimonies that we at least have half a shot, still. :)

I have 2 girls.  One was conceived with DTD days before, and the other I had sex just the one time, and it was 8 or so hours I had already felt the pain of ovulation.

I have two girls. I think our first was conceived through an ovulation stimulated by us DTD. She was conceived on day 8 of my cycle!

DD2 was conceived when we DTD the day I ovulated.

Definitely hope for you :-)

i'm pregnant with a girl, we did the dtd that day....but we'd also dtd just about every day for that cycle. here's my chart if you wanna look at it

My youngest son was conceived 9 days before i ovulated, the only time my ex and i dtd that month. I think that timing alone isn't really that indicative and that you definitely have a chance at having a girl :)

I'm so thrilled that I had to come back to this thread and mention that we did indeed manage to conceive a girl! It was obviously not based on anything we did/didn't do. :)

This is me too! My first 3 were from having sex days before but currently I am having a girl and it was only one time and roughly 12 hours after feeling O pain. OB says my husband just has fast girl sperm :lol.

My baby is a girl. We DTD the day before, the day during, and the day after O.

I also took soy though, which I've heard sways girl. We had been trying for months with no success which is why I went to soy.

Congratulations!

Timing is not a good predictor of sex of the baby. Things that are more important are your diet and exercise regime, DH's sperm count, the cervical fluid/environment near time of conception. Generally anything that is considered bad for conception works in favor of the likelihood of conceiving a girl. We took a number of measures to try for a girl this time (after conceiving 3 known boys, one of which was a loss).
