Hello. So, yesturday morning I took an EPT Digital pregnancy test and got a big fat "PREGNANT" only a day after my missed period. My boyfriend and I are shocked to say the least, but we are happy. I don't have many symptoms other than an incredible amount of gas (Sorry for tmi) that sometimes gets mistaken for a nausea feeling.... Other than that and catching a cold, there was nothing else that really stood out to me telling me that I was pregnant until I realized that I was not feeling my usual PMS symptoms along with the crazy gas (again, sorry).

Anyway, I'm curious to know the likelyhood of a false positive test. I just don't want to start getting my hopes up for no reason, as I am already starting to feel excited.... I went around town today looking for a clinic that would confirm my pregnancy for me but nowhere seems to be able to do it on the weekends. One nurse told me to go to the dollar store and buy an at home test, I don't think she realized I have already taken one.. But because of that, I am torn. Should I go with my gut and trust in the test I've taken, or do I really need to go and make sure??

The reason I ask is because I have noticed that a lot of women don't even bother double checking, or even seeing a doctor until 10 weeks or so. I am only four.

I feel silly for even posting this, but I am a worrier.

Congrats! The digitals are reliable :) I don't think they have false positives, or at least it would be crazy rare!

If you want to test again then try the First Response Early Pregnancy tests. Those are also very reliable.

There are very few tests that will give an evap line which can kinda look like a positive but not really.

I would say without a doubt you are pregnant! Congrats!!!!

THANK YOU! I think I might still be in disbelief or something and that's why I keep putting the "false positive" idea into my head. Having a baby is just so hard to wrap my head around. Thank you so much for your response :)

Congratulations! orngbiggrin.gif I agree with the PP, its way more likely to get a false neg than a false pos!
You might want to set a prenatal appt up and they will confirm your pregnancy.
