I'm 25w1d pregnant with my first baby, and my cervix feels very soft and short--probably like 1cm. (Got used to checking it during Natural Family Planning) I've been reading that it should be like 3cm, so I'm feeling nervous.
How is this measurement taken? I'm assuming it's the length that the cervix sticks out from the uterus--as if you'd put a ruler against the uterus and then see how far the cervix comes down. If this is the case, I believe mine is short.
How worried should I be? I don't have any of the incompetent cervix risk factors or any strange symptoms. So far this pregnancy has been absolutely complication free. I have not yet had an ultrasound--I understand that's how incompetent cervix is detected.
Any input is very much appreciated!
Happy wife and mama to two boys, Levi (5/14) and Cade (9/15)
