Not a fan of ultrasounds or doppler

For my first baby, I didn't get any ultrasounds or doppler (except for doppler at the actual homebirth). I was very happy with my decision... This time around (I'm 4w today) I feel like I need a little moral support from other moms who have made the same decision. A friend who knows I'm pregnant said: "Just think, in four weeks you get to hear the heartbeat!" I felt odd saying: "Actually, I'm going to wait until I can hear it with the fetoscope at around 20 weeks."

Do you stay away from u/s and doppler?

I am avoiding doppler this time although I did get 2 ultrasounds. I wasn't going to do ultrasound either but around 9 weeks I felt like I needed reassurance that all was well. And then at 17 weeks I decided to find out the gender. But I've read that 30 mins of ultrasound =1 min of doppler so ultrasound is definitely the lesser of the 2 evils.

I am for this one. Had an ultrasound with each of my first two- one because I had been working around a lot of chemicals and the second because I started bleeding about 12 weeks.
This one though, everything seems to be well so we're avoiding both also.

With my first we didn't use a Doppler until labor, and just had one ultrasound to check for twins because I was measuring large.

With this one...I'm on the fence. We had two losses last year and I kind of want the reassurance. I'm 10 weeks now, first appointment is in two weeks, and I think I'll ask for a Doppler at that first visit and then do fetoscope for the rest of the pregnancy. Also on the fence about having an ultrasound...we'll see how I feel when that time comes.
