Okay, normally I eat healthy. Especially when I'm pregnant. But today for lunch I ate a can of Heinz baked beans and a box of Kraft Dinner (that's the mac and cheese in the blue box for our American cousins) for lunch :. I know that what I ate was not nutritionally what one could call a meal but it was soooo good. The more I tried to resist the more I wanted it. It didn't take long before I was running down to the grocery store to pick up my forbidden treat.

So fess up. What naughty treats have you indulged in during your pregnancy?

Funny you should ask!! I just now scarfed down a McFlurry. : So much for being vegan for 9 months!! : I don't know what happened! The craving hit me and I couldn't talk myself down! I thought about the cows and all the reasons I don't eat dairy and the craving won. That's never happened to me before. It was good though.

Tracie! LOL! i'm so glad I haven't had cravings like that. (Another vegan here)

With me the "bad" foods are usually chips or chocolate. Sometimes both. But more often than not the craving is for, say, tofu teriyaki or carrots and baba ganouj dip. (however you spell that!)

My pregnancy food of choice this time is cream cheese filled Jalapeno Poppers. I could eat them for dinner every night, but try to limit myself to 1x/week!!!

I dont know if this is considered a "naughty treat" but I eat ice cream every chance I get. Ive also eaten tons of candy the past month or so and I may be drinking a few too many Dr. Peppers...

Huge, thick peanut butter sandwiches. (I eat it almost every day.)

Pizza. With lots of cheese and rosemary.

Cheeseburgers and fries.

Those are the 3 biggest cravings of my pregnancy, and they are all not-so-healthy ones. But OH! They are soooooooooo good!

I see your kraft dinner and baked beans and raise you a hot dog and tater tots (my dinner last night). Usually HATE hot dogs, and am feeling pretty guilty about the nitrates... I have like 1/year, so I guess it's not so bad. But if this kid comes out lopsided, well, it was the hotdog.

mirthfulmom-OMG. I was just going to start a thread like this b/c I am craving all the wrong things.

Okay, here's my big confession. This past weekend we were away and I bought the local treat-homemade fudge-to bring home. I believe that I ate about a FULL pound of fudge in the car ride home. :

I have others, but I'm trying to pretend it's a rare occurence.

Reese's Peanut Butter minis. Peanut butter in general too. :LOL

During Easter... Cadbury Cream Eggs.

For about a month, I was craving Taco Bell chalupas. And I'm not that big a mexican food fan... not that Taco Bell is "mexican". :LOL

I've been mainly just fighting the MUNCHIES!! I'm just hungry all the time.

Oooh, I ate a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup balls (those popper things). ALL to myself! And I have HAD to have a box of Reese's peanut butter cereal in the house the last few weeks, and am getting upset when my dh and son want to eat a bowl, haha!

MirthfulMama, that baked beans and mac/cheese meal sounds like comfort food from childhood. We ate LOTs of that! Also, maybe your body was craving protein?

OK, let's test my new photo in my signature...

<< curses, it didn't work. grrr.>>

Dinner last night was a piece of giant, moist, chocolate chip cakes still warm out of the oven and a tall glass of cold milk.

There is a little voice inside of me that has been gradually getting louder.

It keeps saying: I Want a chesseburger, large fries, and a vanilla shake, and it has to be from Mcdonalds.

My will power seems to be giving in I may have to indulge tomorrow.

The funny thing is that when I'm not pregnant, I don't like Mcdonalds. I wonder if it is a comfort food thing. When I was a kid going to Mcdonalds was always such a treat.

Hummm....another thing I can blame on my mother.

firefly-

That's how I feel too. I really want comfort foods like PB and J, milk, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, and grilled cheese. I am so hungry right now....that all sounds so good! I want it all; on a big plate!
