I'm pregnant with number 3, and I am soo big. I'm 36 weeks now, but I have "looked" 40 weeks for a long time now. I think I am "carrying high" compared to when I was pregnant with DD1 and DD2.

From the back, you can't tell I'm pregnant. From the side, WOAH!

I've heard it said that when you "carry high," you are having a boy. But, what has that got to do with anything? What else can it mean?

Personally, I don't think that how you carry has anything to do with the sex of the baby. I think it probably has more to do with your body, the baby's preferred position, where your placenta is, etc etc.

BUT, I will say that this is pregnancy #2, baby boy #2, and I carried high and straight out front with both boys. Of course, I'm 5'2" and there's really not much space to put a baby on me otherwise. :LOL

I carry "high" - both my babies I carried straight out front, this one is a boy, but the previous was a girl. I really doubt gender has anything to do with it. It may also have something to do with your abs - this is just a theory, but if your abs are a bit more stretched out, then the uterus may fall more forward this time than the last couple and therefore make you seem bigger out front, rather than around the sides?

I carried one baby really super low, the other one high. Started showing real early, and measured ahead for dates with both. Both are girls. I don't think it means anything at all.

I'm pretty sure I carried both girls in my throat! They were soooo high it was painful. with Lauren, everyone was so sure she was a boy because I carried high. Nope.

I don't think it has anything to do with sex either. I carried high all my pregnancies (never dropped until labor either) and have 3 boys, a coincidence I'm sure. It sucks carrying high in that I can never breathe and eating becomes a problem early and stays awful until the baby is born. It hurts carrying high, ugh. I can hardly relax sitting up because it pushes so hard up into my ribs.

I've had enough people tell me it's the other way around--you carry boys low--to think that this has even less to it than your average old wives' tale.

I carry low- two boys so far. Everybody grows babies differently.

I always carry high ... one boy, one girl, and one "surprise" waiting to be unveiled in a few weeks!

At-home mom to a teenager, an infant, and three in between!

For all the women on my moms side of the family this was true. My mom and I both carried girls high, boys low. My aunt was boys high, girls. And then some of my aunts were like me and my mom. It was always one way or the other depending on the sex of the baby though.
