I'm getting bigger and chillier each week. I want some thermal underwear (mostly shirts) that will fit over my belly through the winter. I'd prefer not to wear oversized men's shirts- that's my last resort. I've googled it and can't find a thing. Any ideas?

Any insight to this problem since original question in 2005?

Well - this is about bottoms, not tops. I wear long underwear ALL WINTER, and that's October to April here -- I can't imagine not having them.

I've just cut a couple of pairs in the front from waist to crotch. Most of my maternity pants have enough of a band to hold them up underneath -- or, I use a Bella Band.

Academic mama to Miss T. (09/05) and Miss V. (05/09).
Oh, and (hence )

As for bottoms- I wear cuddle duds. I cut them off at the waist and resewed the elastic lower. They fit under my belly that way. Or normally they don't show under my low rise jeans.

As for tops- I inherited a bunch of my FIL's thermal shirts after he died. He was a very short man with a very large belly- so they are perfectly stretched to fit over mine. I wear them all the time.

Iowaorganic- mama to DD (1/5/06), DS1 (4/9/07), DS2 (1/22/09), DS3 (12/10/10), DD2 (7/6/12) and a new kid due in early 2014

Well, no leads on maternity thermal clothing, but I just want to say that as long as I wear a wool sweater I'm as toasty as can be, no matter how cold it is. Top it off with a wool hat and you're set.

For bottoms, I've just been wearing maternity leggings. They do the trick.

Too funny! I posted this over 3 years ago when I was pregnant with #2. Now it's winter and I'm pregnant again. I don't think I ever came up with a good solution so I'm enjoying the new replies.
