Hmm, thanks for the advice. It makes me sad, but I'm glad I heard this before the holidays. We are planning on buying about 10 lbs of it from a local grower as a Christmas present for some out of state friends.
It will be so hard to stay away from it! Alcohol is easy, since that is not especially healthful at any pt in life, but it's hard to think of mate as "bad".
