hi there mamas! i am looking for mamas who have had unassisted births. I am sincerely fed up with the medical community, especially around here. There are just so few options. I really love the idea of trusting in my body so much that i just let it go to do what it will, which is birth a baby. I believe in myself to do this, though i know that i could use some meditation and positive thinking. Anyways i'd love to hear from some of you who have had unassisted births.
love,
jessica

Hi Jessica
I haven't had an unassisted birth yet , but I am planing to have one as soon as this baby decides it wants to come out. My due date is Feb 8. I found a lot of encouragment from the homebirth thread, so you might want to try and post there. Sorry I couldn't give you an experience of my own.

Hi Jessica,

I think there are only a few UCers here who are currently pregnant. So like Veronica mentioned, you might have more luck posting in the 'homebirth' forum, and in fact if you do a search you'll find a lot of threads there in which it's been discussed.

I gave birth without assistance 18 months ago, and if I ever have another baby I will do it again, as long as there is no need for medical assistance.

My story is long, long, long (aren't they all ) so I'm not going to attempt to tell it, but if you have specific questions, ask away!

Linda

I SO support your (and all women's) desires to accept your health care into your own hands.

Laura Shanley is the author of Unassisted Childbirth.

This one is Laura's. You may also write to her or join her email list, she's awesome.

Here are Karen Plomp's pages, lots are unassisted.

I haven't read this whole article yet but I'm sure it is VERY opinionated. FYI
