I pretty much breezed through pregnancy #1, and must admit I'm a bit surprised how sick I feel all the time with pregnancy #2 (I'm about week 7). I remember reading about "preggie pops" (I think) with #1, and now I'm wondering if they really work, and where I can get one fast?! I just went shopping at our local Whole Foods Market and they didn't seem to have them there. Anyone have any experience with preggie pops?

Thanks!

They honestly didn't do a thing for me. I tried all flavors. The ginger & minty ones made me gag, the sour ones didn't but they didn't help either. I found them at Babies R Us. They're also at some maternity stores.

they worked wonders for me and were really yummy, BUT, after my relief i read the ingredients and they are just candy! the flavouring is pretty natural, so they are naturalish candies, and yummy candies, but still candies. if you are desperate to try it and can't get a hold of preggie pops, but can find a hard candy to suck on that you like, i think it is just helpful to suck one something and give your blood sugar a little boost! though they are the yummiest candies i have tasted (i'm not a big candy fan), i think the fact that they are called "preggie pops" is just realy smart marketing--i bought in

I also had almost no morning sickness my first pg and was sick as a dog the entire first trimester with my second and third - it really took me by surprise with my second pregnancy!

Anyway, I tried the Preggie Pops this last time (I found them at Babies R Us at the checkout lane - I've also seen them at Motherhood Maternity stores). They helped a little...not really any more than anything else I tried (several things would kind of just take the edge off the nausea for a little while, nothing eased it significantly, unfortunately.) They do taste pretty good. The lavender one was a bit weird - it just seemed strange to be TASTING lavender when I'm used to only smelling it (and it does taste just like it smells!). The ginger one was really good. I think they're worth a try - they might help you at least for a little while!

I liked some of the flavors, but I agree the lavendar was weird (and I was looking forward to it, too). My stepmom, who works as a L&D nurse, sent me some.

But honestly, sour altoids are a lot cheaper, and just as good. And it was the sour taste that helped me most. (Sometimes mint also helped). Some people like the ginger altoids, too, but I thought those were gross!

I also found that the pops were more candy than I wanted to have at one time -- sour altoids are smaller, so they were just the right size.

Thanks, mamas, for the quick replies. I found some sites online that sell both the preggie pops and the drops (pops without the sticks, I guess), and one listed the ingredients, and yes, surprisingly, they are just candy! So I'm off to the drug store tomorrow to get something to suck on, maybe that'll help. We'll see. I really like ginger and mint flavors and I'm drinking tea all day long. I'm not a candy person, but if something helps when I'm out and about, I'm all for trying it.
Thanks, again!

Dh bought me a maternity outfit for Christmas and thre a package of those in with it. I took them with me in car on our trip to Texas the next day, and I think they saved my life! They didn't "fix" the morning sickness, but they did help. I didn't hurl in the car at least! He got mine at Motherhood.
