I'm wondering if this is just me....does your belly get bigger and bigger as the day goes on? When I wake up I have a bump but by the end of the day it is considerably larger than when I first woke up in the morning. I presume this is from eating throughout the day. Anyway, I'll feel really weird if this doesn't happen to anybody else!

Yes, that happens to me all the time! I wondered if it did to anyone else. I wake up not even feeling pregnant, but by the evening I'm practically waddling, hardly able to bend over to tie my own shoes or pick up something I dropped (which I keep doing, too). This has been going on for months now. In fact just up until a few weeks ago I could still wear my pre-pregnancy clothes most of the day, but at night I had to change. I have no idea what it is, maybe zek_grrl is right but I thought more likely water retention? Weird.

in my case I know it is the food...

I had two pieces of lasagna for dinner and I look like I time-travelled two months into the future!

I know it's the food and not water retention

Yup. Doesn't seem to be too food related. I keep laughing and saying that all my organs which settled towards my spine overnight just take the day to fall forward. Seriously though, I think it's mostly just water.

Yup This is true for me even when I'm not pregnant.

I wonder; just how much gas do we expel at night??

It happens to me at night too. In the morning my stomach still feels a little squishy and at night it is as hard as a rock and looks HUGE.

No it depends on how much I eat.
It also depends if I relax my stomach muscles. It really grows then

My belly "grows" over the day too (or my pants shrink...you pay your money you take your choice).

I know from pre-baby that I tend to weigh about 3-4 pounds more in the evening than I do first thing in the morning (this is pretty common) so I figured that the extra water/food/gas/etc that comes with being a baby carrier was just making this more obvious.

Mine does too!!! I look pregnant and I just don't get it, no pain or discomfort aside from the feeling of being stretched.
