I think you may get a little more sodium than you need, but they are low in calories and have no fat? I have been known to put away a whole jar, even when I'm not pregnant! chow down!!

I've been eating pickles every day for the past two weeks! I'm a kosher dill freak! I would guess that it's the sodium that your body needs ... And as long as you're not getting sick from the acidity, then eat some more pickles, Mama!

Yeah, I'm craving the salt and the sour. Also on the craving list this week: cranberry sauce, peanuts, red meat, green olives, garlic, horseradish sauce, kelp, and beets.

I just read my list and cracked up .

Tis the season, for hot apple cider!

I would have to say YES.. yes you can! I only say this because I ate pickles so much with my first pregnancy that even now I still can't eat them. On occasion I get the taste for one but that's all I can handle and I normally can't even finish the one that I craved. I do like to drink pickle juice from time to time though it's good for getting rid of hiccups.

Nic, loving mama to 5 with a SURPRISE 6th on the way.

Well, I can. I'm allergic to yellow 5 (not all of them have it, thank goodness, or I'd really be in trouble, I love pickles)

Otherwise, I say go for it

Luckily my pickles are homemade and organic (from a neighbor, I've no idea how to make them myself).

No, you can NOT eat too many pickles. If you could, I'd surely be dead by now from pickle overdose

I like those, I like to switch it up a lot, always trying new ones...my current favorites are the "State Fair" from Cains, they have a couple different kinds, and they come with a cute story on the back about whoever got the blue ribbon for the pickles...I like them because they are tiny, I prefer pickles I can eat in one or two bites, rather than the giant ones that get all over you.

I love pickles...

and pickled other stuff too, like asparagus, green beans, baby corn, beets....

I never want to admit that I crave pickles, but I do, It is such a pregnancy steriotype that I am even embaressed buying them, at least it is not pickles and ice cream. : BTW I just bought an organic very natural brand at whole foods, they have no extra stuff in them and taste just like those crunchy ones you buy in the refridgerated section. (sorry pregnancy brain has me forgetting names: )

If you eat too many, your body will reject them. So if this is not the case, have a great time eating pickles!

OMG.. now I want pickled green beans. My stepmom used to pickle them straight from the garden when I was growing up. I am going to have to pester her for her recipe now.

Oh I know but they're just SOOOOO good. I'm Portuguese and have a handle on hot foods in my blood. So they're probably more tolerable for me than a lot of people, I'm lucky like that.

Funny story-

Second pregnancy, I was craving pickles soooo bad. I ate and entire bottle of them, then sent dh to the store to get more. He came back with two bottles of sweet pickles. Oh the horrors! I actually cried about it. Not only did I not get my pickles, but those two jars of sweet pickles sat in our fridge until we moved.
