I got some Burts Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile cleansing cream to use for face wash yesterday, and now that i am looking at the ingredients I noticed stearic acid is listed and it says (vegetable fat) after it.

I looked it up online and it says it's a fatty acid used in soaps and cosmetics. So is this facial wash okay for me to use?

Thanks!

Yup, you can even eat it (not the burt's bee product, but in general). Stearic acid is added to foods, cosmetics and even candles to make them harder. I know because my hubby who's a candlemaker has about 5 lbs of it sitting on his table.

Thanks for the info! I was all excited to find a nice natural face wash and then I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to use it!
