Hi,

According to my lmp, I am almost 5 weeks along. However, according to when I o'd it has only been 2 weeks. Anyway, I have had two miscarriages since January, so I asked for my HCG and progesterone levels to be tested. HCG tripled (from 71 on Friday morning to 250 Monday morning) and my progesterone was 47.

Anyone else have their p4 tested and find out it was high? Am I having twins????

Just curious if I should be worried, since 47 is the upper limit for first trimester levels.

Should I just stop worrying?

Thanks!!

Jacqueline

I had high P4 levels with my first but it was b/c I did IVF so it was partially b/c I was taking shots...my P4 level was 97 and my HCG was 247 at 4w. However, I had a disappearing twin. My second PG was au natural and my HCG at around 4w was 130 and my P4 was 20...Your high levels could be a sign of twins or just a very healthy pregnancy. All the best!

Stop worrying, you're GREAT. My prog level was .3 (yes, you read that correctly) at 7 wks w/ my first pregnancy. I needed a script for it till 15 wks and it was 49.6 at that point. Doctor was pleased and so was I. It meant my baby lived!

You're fine, fine, fine!! Be glad and congrats.

Progesterone levels are hardly the best test of whether you're carrying multiples. I wouldn't worry about the level at all. It's plenty high, which means your body is doing what it should. Some people just have higher levels than others. I wouldn't worry about it!

Mama to Aeden, : my little NICU grad and Conner and Liam () my precious twins. is due mid April!

My first cycle on clomid was watched closely by my Dr. At 7dpo we did a progesterone level. My Dr. told me over the phone as a result of the high progesterone level I was probably pregnant with twins. Mine was also 47 (at 7dpo!) and I wasn't even pregnant!!! I wouldn't read to much into the progesterone level at all.
