How worried should I be that ds is getting rough and rowdy, and my belly is starting become a target. And ouch.

When is this going to become a problem? He isn't old enough to really understand not to jump on mommy's tummy. Should I get a shield?

My DD is 2.5 and still doesn't understand. I can tell her to be gentle, and she will for about 3 min, then forget and be rough again. It just takes a lot patience on my part.

I physically block Donovan from doing things that make me feel unsafe, whether he's trying to hit me because he's angry, or trying to jump on me because he's playing. I explain why I didn't let him do it (usually "That hurts Mommy" with possibly a tiny bit of embellishment, but I don't make it "about the baby" at all, especially since it's not always about the baby).

My dd has this issue as well. We don't just family bed she physically sleeps on top of my stomach. The other night we were laying down to sleep & she informed me the baby kicked her. Awe. She then rolled off of me & kicked me in the stomach! Seemed fair to her I guess.

What are we going to do with these kids? Do they make shields for such things? Toddler proof vest?

i have the same problem. when my son nosedives for my belly, i just gently stop him and remind him the baby is sleeping. most times he stops but not every time.

Ya, mine just turned 3 and he doesn't really hit or kick my belly, but he forgets or just doesn't understand that it's not there for his convenience to climb up higher to mommy's face!: I do try to not say it's cause of the baby, I just say it's cause of me or we need to be gentle in general. Good luck!

So glad to be mommy to my Bubba and my Bundle!

So true as well! I try to say "Mommy's back hurts", "Mommy's tired" "you're a big girl now like your sissy's" or sometimes in aggrivated moments " You're killing your momma!"
