Hmmm, I'm a second time mom, and I know that when they test for GBS before the birth they actually do a vaginal swab...so they are testing the presence in your vagina, not in your urine. But I also no that part of the routine testing of newly pregnant moms includes a screen of urine for Urinary Tract infections, could this be what they did? And if so, you might want to not worry SOO SOO much about the fact that they are saying it's group b strep, and instead approach this from the perspective of having another type of infection entirely. For what it's worth, I think that some of my family members have had success battling UTI naturally with tons of cranberry juice, cranberry pills from a health food store, and increasing water intake. You might call around and see what some health food stores have in your area. I do know though that infections increase a risk of miscarriage, but I have no idea what impact amoxicillan would have on the baby...
Good luck, and I know this can be so stressful!! Try to be as non-confrontational and as information oriented as you can with Dr.s, so hard when you're nervous but it helps to keep them from dealing with you as "that wacky patient."
