What are those twinges down there???

There's all kinds of activity down way low these days. I think my baby is dancing John Travolta-style. Every once in a while I feel a sharp twinge - it feels exactly as though the baby is pinching my cervix.

Is anyone else having these? I've got four weeks left. What is that?

I think I'm secretly hoping that it is me dilating and by the time I go into labor I'll be almost there!!

DS2 and DS3 both did that. I believe it was their tiny little hands scrabbling way down low, or pushing the crown of their head against my cervix. OUCH!

I think its your cervix getting ready. With ds I had cramps, twinges, all sorts of cervical sensations for the last 4-5 weeks. I loved it - I knew my body was getting lots of work done early.

Both of mine have done that! It used to freak me out last time that she was going to just fall out or something.

Paquerette - I have the same feeling. I know it is just paranoid pg brain talking, but sometimes I'm sure the baby is just going to push him/herself out right there and then. Or I'm convinced it is enough pressure that my water is going to break.

I guess this is good, it is spurring me into action - got to get those last minute things done!

I keep telling dh that this one feels like he's trying to crawl out of me!! I "think" I have about a week left...so I could go anytime now and I never felt this kinda scratchy, pinchy-like feelings down there with the other babies. Weird!

I am only 28 weeks but I've been having those uncomfortable cervix twinges for about a week. It feels like the baby is trying to punch his way right out of my cervix, and it hurts! When it happens I gasp and jump about a foot in the air.

I'm 39 weeks and have felt it a lot this week. I went for a jog/walk today and afterwards felt it for about an hour so hopefully I jiggled him/her down a little! But those twinges are definitely a little painful at times! I sure hope it means my cervix is doing something

I had horrible kicking/twinge like feelings and my DS was a footling breech when I went into labor. But never had them with my DD who was head down. With DS it was so painful that I'd cry and try to get into positions to make it stop!!

OOh bummer. I was really hoping that it meant this little bambino was head down. I guess it is no indication of that.

Yes, it does hurt quite a bit, but luckily just sharp jabs of pain, not ongoing, burning can't-make-it-go-away-pain (I'm having plenty of that at the top of my belly.)

I had this, too, with my first pregnancy. Turns out he was in there (head down) with his little hand at his temple. He slept like that for weeks after he was born.

This is EXACTLY what keeps happening to me! It feels awful - pinching, pinching, pinching - it stops me in my tracks completely. I just hope it's a sign of the head engaging, since with DD her head never engaged and it ended up a C section - so I'm taking this as a good sign!

37 weeks and counting!

I've had a lot of it on my right side right above the pubic bone - it seriously feels like she is sitting there scratching me from the inside - I don't know how you all are doing it if your little ones are scratching your cervix!! OUCH!

Same thing with my DS, I know he was scratching my cervix with his little hands- yikes! I never did an U/S, so it was even more conformation that my placenta was no where near my cervix at least!

Momma to G 12/06 A 2/09, AND ANNOUNCING... Welcome big boy! A 5/10/10 9 lbs 10 oz! We and had our 3rd UP/UC!
