Well, I'll just put it right out into the open and be blunt- I'm pretty much looking for any reason that this baby #2 is a girl. We find out in one week but until then, I must ask this question.

Did you carry differently with your girls vs. boys? With ds #1, I carried as if I had a drooping basketball. He was so low that literally had to lift my tummy in the second trimester just to cross my legs.

This time though, it's freakishly different. Not only am I really high, I'm carrying "in" and my butt is getting huge (butt didn't grow with ds)

Sooo...I was wondering your experience. When you were pregnant with a boy/girl how was carrying different for you? Or was it not different?

Thanks in advance!

P.S.- I *know* this is just a wives tale, but I can still be curious...

Ds carried like a high basketball w/his tush practically up by my ribs. DD Carried much much lower.. 2nd DS is carrying all over the freaking place in sideways way low way high. So you got me so far mine are all different although I will say this lil guy does stay up in the basketball way more like DS#1.

7th Heaven here we come! Due date early May

Interesting- I guess I'll just have to wait and see then. Gosh I wish there was a reliable wives tale

dd1 carried high and in the middle. perfectly round almost. couldn't tell i was pregnant until i turned to the side.

dd2 carried about the same as your ds1. so low and sloping.

i have my 2 belly casts stacked on each other right now and you can see the stark difference in how i carried....and i was smaller with dd2.....

all my friends who have had girls though have carried high.

This is my first, and I feel like I'm carrying pretty low, though I have nothing to compare it to. The u/s indicated that I'm having a girl.

Anyway, I've had several people tell me I look like I'm carrying a girl, and 1 telling me I'm having a boy. So who knows?

Come ponder with me about food!

Nope. I have a short torso and a narrow ribcage. Physical structure dictates that I carry waaaay out in front.

I looked like I swallowed a basketball both times, girl and boy. My daughter did drop a lot sooner, but my son had a short cord and was tethered up high -- again, that was physionomy, not gender dictating the position.

i am on my third girl and i cant really tell with this one but my other 2 were carried completely differently, yet were the same gender. no one believed me when we told them DD2 wasn't a boy upon delivery.

I laughed a little bit when I read this. Perfect description of me this pregnancy, lol! Yesterday I realized it's more comfortable to lift my basketball belly and rest it on the counter as I do the dishes

On topic, we're not finding out the sex (although I'd really like to know). And because I'm carrying soooooo much different this time, I was hoping it might be a boy (I'd love a girl too, of course, but not knowing ahead of time is really suspenseful this pregnancy for me for some reason, lol!).

Tina - mama to DD1 10yrs, DD2 5.5 yrs and DD3 22 mo and wifey to DH.

With ds, I carried really wide, gained a lot of weight, and you could tell from behind that I was pregnant.

With dd, I carried strictly in front, gained less than half the weight as with ds, and still had a waist from behind. It seriously looked like I just had a huge ball under my shirt with her.

I only have one baby earthside so far- a girl, and with her I carried low and my butt got REALLY big. So did my boobs, legs, etc. for that matter I gained EVERYWHERE! And my whole face changed, it's hard to explain.

This time I just look like I have a basketball under my shirt.... nada anywhere else. So yeah I'm pretty convinced it's a boy

SO do I!!!! Ds fit the carrying and heart rate ones but I'm learning that they aren't reliable sadly.
