Hi all. Well, I have been reading some about the chance of there being low amniotic fluid in pregnancies that go past 41 weeks.. I am just wondering, have any of you had this problem when going to 41 or 42 weeks?
Your fluid levels can change based on how hydrated you are, so make sure you drink lots of water before an u/s to check amniotic fluid. There's a lot of good information in Henci Goer's book The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth about the post-dates tests, and things you can do to help avoid false positives (perseving a problem when there really isn't one).
I had an u/s at 41.5 weeks for ds1 to keep the doc happy. I chose not do it with ds2 when planning a homebirth.
