okay so 2nd trimester I started throwing up ALL night when i'd eat meat --esp red meat and I could only eat chicken I baked at home....

I thought---is it because I've been eating so healthy for a year now and cut meat to just a couple times a week? and my body doesn't like oily fatty stuff? is it my gallbladder? it is this baby girl inside that does't like meat?

my dd is now 8 1/2 weeks old and I still have this problem only it turned less severe---just a severe pain the day after I eat meat just below my ribs...went and got my gallbladder checked---all normal! okay? so I guess I can't ever eat meat again and I have no idea why! anyone else experienced this?

Before pregnancy, I didn't eat very much meat (and not red meat or game). However, I haven't been able to stomach any at all during my pregnancy. Any time that I would try it I woulg get really sick. For protein, I have just been eating nuts and organic eggs. I'm actually glad that I am not eating meat, because my dh wouldn't be crazy about buying hormone/antibiotic-free meat all of the time, and I just don't want that stuff in my system while pregnant. I've never been really into meat. I only started eating it again gradually after 10 years as a vegitarian, and I would be perfectly fine with never eating it again.

**I have been able to eat crustaceans during pregnancy, though.**

SOOOOooo- do you think your body can get so used to not eating meat that it literally (not a mental thing to me) gets sick when you put it in your system? (put that stress on your liver?)

I've heard a lot of stories of people who go veg*n and then after a while eat meat again and can't without it making them sick. So I would say yes, the body can get used to no meat and then reject it when it gets it again.

I've had kind of the opposite with this pregnancy though. I'm basically the worst vegetarian ever...and since getting pregnant I crave meat a lot more (even red meat which even before going veg never interested me all that much). It makes me feel bad because I really do want to be vegetarian! Maybe if I remember to eat more eggs and such to get my protein and iron I won't crave meat so much. I'm already doing a lot of dairy (which I know...isn't always the best but I just LOVE milk).

Meat makes me really really sick in pregnancy. I think that it is too high in fat, even when it is pretty lean. It makes me wanna heave.

With both my girl pregnancys, Meat made me soooo sick. With my son I loved meat. I guess with dd I could it meat from the local meat market but not from the big chain stores like Wal-Mart. I never really knew why, so I just followed my body and stayed away. Now I'm pregnant with another girl and it's the same way. I work at a restaurant where they ground their beef fresh daily and that's the only meat I can eat. Everywhere else makes me sick. It might be the processing/preservative thing but still not sure.

In love with the Hubs (6-03) & : Kookie Pookie Girl (c/s 5-05) & Bouncy Big Boy (vbac 2-07) & : Miss Cheeky Cheeks (hbac 11-08) 100*90* 100lbs = Las Vegas : Almost there!
