I don't know if it's pregnancy brain or what, but I can NOT decide on a name. The one that I could have been settled on my dh doesn't want, so it's been back and forth with names.

My dd is Ella, so that's been something I've taken into consideration. Don't really want 2 "E" names, but it's not a huge deal if we go with Emerson and I don't know if Mila sounds to similar. AHHHH!

I'm a fan of both Maya and Mila, if Mila is pronounced like Maya with an "L" in the middle, rather than Meela. Which pronunciation are you going for?

The pronunciation would be Mee-la.

Wow.. lots of votes for Maya and Annabel. My husbands fav. right now is Maya, but out of the 4 we really hadn't talked about Annabel too much. he said he is open to it? hmm.

I like Mila. I only say no to Maya because it was ranked last year as #62 of most popular names last year by the SSA and it's popularity has been steadily rising. I tend to try to steer away from the super popular names. Mila is pretty and unique.

I like Annabel Kate. Annabel Lilly seems like too many L sounds. Course it depends on your last name! GL!

our name actually begins with a L. That's why I steer away from Lily or Lucy.. names we like. Too many L's.

Voted for Mila because it needed some love, but I like Mila, Maya and Annabel all about the same. Maya has become very very popular in some areas if that affects your decision, Mila and Annabel are more uncommon choices. If your last name starts with L, than Kate might go best with them. I think all three are pretty.

I do not like Emerson because I'm not a fan of the "son" ending surname names on girls personally. (and I don't really love them on boys either) and I think because of the popularity of Madison and Addison, all of those names will seem very dated by the time the child is an adult. Emer (pronounced Ee-mer) is an Irish mythological name if you are looking for an unusual way to get to "Em" or Emmeline perhaps?

ETA---one nice thing about Emmeline is that Mila can also be a nickname for it, so she would have more of a choice what to be called as an adult but you could use Mila at home. I know some people do not like to choose more formal names and then use a nickname more often but I think it gives more choice to the child.

I voted Maya but I'm biased

I will warn you, though - when we tell people DD's name, they look confused, as if it's the strangest name they've ever heard. Then they ask us to spell it and look even more confused When people see the spelling before hearing us pronounce it, they think it's mee-uh. Not sure how they get that from our spelling, but whatever

I still haven't decided! Thanks for all the votes. Funny thing.. I don't think Annabel is in the running anymore.. just isn't sticking out as much (not that the others are either). I'm leaning more towards Maya, I think. Or Mila, even tho I think that sounds to much like Ella, so I'm holding back. My husband just brought up Hannah the other day - which is nice, but i think it may be too popular. And since we've brought it up, 2 people have said something about Hannah Montana.. which we never even thought about. At this point, my husband wants Emerson or Maya... i don't know!!! Only 11 more weeks to decide, I need to get a move on.

We are considering Mila too. But is has a lot of meaning behind it for us. I don't think we'll end up with that name, though, as it sounds like it belongs to a drak-haird baby and we will most likely have a toehead. Let us know what you pick!

I like Mila, but only when pronounced "my-la" (like the feminine version of Milo). Mee-la just sounds kind of slimy to me - maybe the rhyme with eel?

Next would be Maya.

Anabel is awfully trendy, and Emerson is a last name and so therefore an automatic no in my book, except as a middle name.

I chose Mila because I knew a Mila who was adorable and I always thought it was a super-cute name! It just doesn't go well with our last name, otherwise it would have been on our list

ETA: I like it pronounced Mee-la, but that's the only way I have ever heard it pronounced!
