I was thinking about the UAV/suspension policy and wanted to ask: is there a way to 'heal' a UAV after so many months of no additional problems? I was just thinking, the spirit of MDC being what it is, that if someone gets UAV'd but realizes what to do differently and doesn't UAV again, could they heal the UAV after say 6 or 12 months of 'being good'? Maybe it doesn't apply to a 3 pointer, but if it's a 1 pointer? Because I could see mamas being on here for eons, getting a UAV maybe once a year, and inadvertently adding it up. I'm just tossing it out there.

Just thinking 'out loud'!

Maybe not, but I was just wondering :

We discussed that a bit. It will be something we can look at, people can always pm an admin and get a copy of all of their User Notes and we are always happy to discuss them.

You do not have any.

People can pm an admin and they can get their usernotes and that information. I probably shouldn't address it on the thread but you didn't have any ways.

So is that a HIPPAA violation? To publically announce her negative lab tests?

The alert tab will have all of that though, right? Do the UAV counts restart now with this new system, or do they carry over?

Is it a UAV point if a mod asks you to edit your post?

I also want to know if everyone is starting fresh.

And will the alert tab explain WHY an alert was received?

No, it isn't a point if someone asks you to edit.

There are reminders which do not count as well. The mods will be using those as well.

OIC!

So is it pretty obvious that you've been UAV'd? As in, the mods say specifically YOU ARE BEING UAVd (with the darth vader voice, of course)

Just wondering...

Yeah it should have been "I am issuing you an alert"

We do require pretty obvious wording.

And can you clarify the algebra I asked about in the other thread? It sounds like 3 alerts= 1 warning, 1 mod alert= 1 point, 9 points = 1 ban, 1 admin alert= 3 moderator alerts- does this mean one "administrative warning" is an automatic banning? Please, please, please clarify that whole "points" system!

And another thought...what about tying UAV's to board usage so mods aren't as busy? Meaning, to post at TAO or *if* N&CE ever resurrects, maybe you can't have had any UAVs for six months and less than 3 total, or something like that. It would make people be more careful about what they say, especially on a N/CE forum. Because if they get UAVd they are immediately off the board for six months. And if they do it again elsewhere they can be off for even longer.

"Each Moderator Alert will equal one point. An Administrative Warning will equal three points. Warnings, which will equal three Alerts, will be issued at the discretion of the Administrators. If a member reaches 9 points, the software will automatically suspend the account for a period of 30 days. After the suspension, if a member receives an additional 9 points, membership will be removed. Please use the Questions and Suggestions forum for any specific questions regarding to this automation."

Here's how I read it:

1 mod alert = 1 point

Admin Warning = 3 points

9 points from any combo = suspension

18 points from any combo = banned (but not the senior title kind )

No, it is the same as the old system actually

3 alerts=warning
3 warnings =suspension
6 warnings=second suspension
9 warnings=banned

So..18 points/alerts is the same as 9 warnings.

But but but but...

If 3 alerts = a warning,
then 18 alerts = 6 warnings.

Right?

Will other people (non moderators) be able to see if and how many points we have against us? or will this be a shame that we can keep to ourselves?

3 alerts= 1 warning
3 warnings=9 alerts= 1 suspension
6 warnings=18 alerts=2 suspensions
9 warnings=27 alerts= bye bye MDC

Is that accurate?

Can people ever be immediately banned from MDC for REALLY awful posts? I remember once reading a post by a child molester describing his crimes and I'm really, really hoping that guy was immediately and permenantly banned from MDC. Do administrators have the authority to ban somebody like that after one post?

The auto-termination thing serves two purposes. When someone who is "banned" logs in it gives a reason they were banned and when they can come back. This will give them a date that it is over.

Also, I have noticed complaints from suspended people like "they want us to kiss their butts to get back in blah blah blah"

That wasn't the case, people could say "Let me in I will follow rules but I do not like you abimommy! I do not like you real bad!" and I would be "alrighty" and and return access. This will auto return access. So no one will have to email to get their access returned.

I also think that your alerts should decay overtime. For example if you dont get an alert for 3 months 1 of your alerts disapear. Something that is still good for the system but allows users to get back in good graces.
That will be something we will have to examine. I don't really like to say "never."
