I just heard from a friend who's looking for some resources to help her sister recover from an unplanned & unwanted c-section...and I was SO PLEASED that I could tell her to come to MDC and look for the new c-section forum!

This thread represents what I love best about MDC: smart, articulate women not afraid to take on big sticky issues &  working through things respectfully. Bravo, mods & bravo all of us!!!

Thanks to MDC for this welcome decision.

A PP suggested "The Caesarean Experience" (or Caserean, whichever).  This seems like a very good compromise to me.

Thoughts?

I don't have strong feelings about the spelling, and the forum title isn't all that important to me. The Caesarean Experience sounds fine to me; I'm also OK with "Caesareans". I do feel it should be the most neutral/inclusive name possible.

But mostly, I'm just looking forward to seeing the forum up & running. I already have several thread ideas in my mind! And I might actually post my birth story, finally.

Mods, has anyone come forward to be the forum leader?

What's too bad is that it took MDC 10+ years to realize what a valuable resource they could have been for anyone impacted by c-sections.

It's about time we got a forum.

I'd also like to know what the "wow" is about - correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe you piped in with your concerns in this entire thread of discussing the pros and cons of having one. And now it's an issue?

I too would like to know what exactly is meant by this.  I consider "too bad" to be words to describe some of the other changes to this community such as the folding of the magazine, or the gaffs with regards to facebook.

This change is being asked by a part of the community to be a positive resource for women who are faced with this option.  I think that's a good thing.

I don't have much connections with sections either and I'm done having kids but honestly, I'd love to see the whole MDC "take" on the process so that I can be informed in case anyone should ask, KWIM?
