I could't figure out how to delete motherin but I searched for it, clicked it, logged in with another email and all is good now.

Ok, this goes back to the comment on "bread crumb trail". In the recent discussions box on the right of the page a person is currently reading, it would give the title of the recent discussion "Legal for a homebirth", Today 2:49 PM "in forum/subforum name" by minerva23 so that I know whether it is in a part of mdc that I know something about or want to be involved in.

Hi! Sorry to bother, but the problems we were having in the July DDC are pretty similar to what @Sihaya said here with her experience with the June DDC. She said it much better than I had said it below (quoted post).

Additionally - and this is actually pretty important - we're missing at least three pages of thread from the Birth Bead Swap here. I'm getting ready to send out beads (I organized) and I'm having to rely on PMs for info that I could have sworn was in the thread.

Thank you!

I'm so sorry to pester - none of the new posts are showing up in the birth bead thread. On Firefox, I can only get it to open to Page 3 (though reply #60 ). On Chrome, I can only get it to open to Page 2. Both browsers are current/updated.

I'll try again tomorrow. Thank you for your time, and I'm so sorry, again!

I can't provide any help at all, but I wanted to say that I am so sorry that the format change is affecting your bead swap negatively! I also organized the June DDC's bead swap and I can imagine how frustrated you are. I hope the posts you need are restored quickly so your swap can continue smoothly.

Thank you for the responsive posts & the hard work! Dh is a programmer so I have a bit of an idea what this all takes

In huddler, there was post count/of all posts. So, if I was reading post 100 out of 200 posts, it said 100/200. This was helpful to show me if there were new posts I hadn't read yet. *I think* I've read this whole thread & no one else mentioned this. But I really liked it

Thanks!

I'm still missing my advertiser tag (and earlier posts in this thread said that it's being worked on), and now my avatar has suddenly disappeared, through no doing of my own, with no PM or anything from the moderation staff, if it was any of them that removed it.

ETA: Never mind, it was a brief page-loading glitch. It wasn't displaying a moment ago when I made a post elsewhere, but did show up here, so I went to check that other thread and found that it is showing up there as well.

I do have a different avatar problem, though. I'm trying to change it to a new custom image, and the new image is 139x139 and only 12 kb and when I try to upload it, I get an error "unable to save image."

Hi Sus! This was requested by our mods so I think it's on the list of To-Do's. But thanks for reinforcing the request.

fruitfulmomma, your default setting appears to be set at "Do not subscribe". You can change it in your UserCP. If you are having problems adjusting your setting let me know and I'll set it for you.

UserCP -> Settings & Options -> Edit Options

Scroll to Messaging & Notifications and you'll see Default thread subscription mode. You can change it there.

Hi,

For the last couple of weeks, I guess since the update, I have been unable to update the pregnancy ticker in my signature. My signature won't show up at all any more. Apparently we are now severely restricted in the number of smilies we can use?

This makes no sense since the proportional amount of resources smilies use these days is negligible. Why would they be limited to 4 now, and why make us change signatures we have had for a long time and into which we put thought and care? It seems like an arbitrary and, for some of us who don't want to delete our visual descriptors, upsetting restriction. I would expect things to go in the opposite direction with a modern website update.

Am I somehow doing something wrong?

ETA: Now I see my sig again on this post. Funny timing.

Hi Kittymom. We haven't set any new restrictions on signatures so if there are any issues it is likely because some defalut platform setting needs to be adjusted, which we can certainly do.

Your signature looks intact to me. Are you seeing everything that you had there before?

We haven't had any other reports of signature issues that I am aware of so if someone else is having a problem please do let us know.

I had to delete about half of the images in my signature that last time I updated it (which I do weekly). I haven't mentioned it because there are so many huge, glaring problems that need to be fixed right now that it seemed minor.

I am also unable to change my avatar even though the image I am trying to change it to is well within the appropriate limits for dimensions and file size. The exact error message I get was mentioned by another poster earlier in this thread, I believe.

I'm having the same signature problem--when I try to edit it, I get the following message:

"You have included 6 images in your message. You are limited to using 4 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Images include use of smilies, the BB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator."

I tried again just now, to see if I would get the same message, and did.

I can't edit it, Cynthia. I am 19 weeks pregnant, but when I try to edit and save, it says I can't have more than 4 smilies (I think it calls them something else). Honesty, it is bothering me an unreasonable amount because I am so superstitious about this pregnancy. I want to see that ticker moving.

Thank you for your responsiveness!

There's supposed to be a sticky in the Vaccination Research for Beginners forum (I believe that's the right name), but when you click on it, it says "no thread specified" (http://www.mothering.com/forum/showt...5#post17637705)

Also, I'm a little confused about the existence of both a Vaccine Debate forum AND and Vaccine Debate and Discussion forum. Maybe some sort of oversight with the new format? Both seem to be open to posting.

Monkey (30) + Pirate (28) = a forever family (5/10) - Baby Bird (8/12), our long-awaited first, one (9/13 @ 7w 6d), and Baby Yummy (10/6/14)

I'm looking into the signature images and avatar issues. Siyaha, your email did not arrive. Are you able to post it here?

Monkeyscience, I merged the two debate forums into the main Vaccinations forum. So now everything is in that one forum and our community rules and guidelines apply to discussions there.

The Vaccination Research for Beginners forum was merged sometime back so that thread was probably deleted and what you saw was a leftover. I removed that so it should not be visible anymore. Thanks!
