My searches never work

Hello,
No matter what I word I search for in any forum I never get any results. This has only happened since the format seems to have changed on MDC. It always tells me I have no matches. Even when I searched for induction in the birth forum and other completely obvious searches that should have worked.
What can I do? I really like the search function and use it a lot.

I'm having that problem too on the mobile android version without tapatalk....I knew when I tested it with "breastfeeding" that it wasn't just no results for my actual query.

I'm having the same issue on my desktop also. I thought at first maybe it was the words I was searching (although I still doubt that) so I tried some more obvious terms that I *know* are in some of the threads and still got no results. This has only happened to me since the new format came up too. I so miss my sweet little search box!

Hey guys,

Are you still experiencing issues? I have tested it out with the word baby and I come up with several results.

Hey guys,

Can anyone provide me with a screen shot of the issue. As well as what device are you using as well as browser type?

Thank so much

Had this issue in tapatalk and reported it on the tapatalk feedback thread with examples.
Mobile and desktop versions yield better results but still nothing close to the quality of the old search function.

I am not able to reproduce this, can someone get a screen shot of what comes up when you don't get any results? And let us know what OS you are using and what browser?

Ok search is working for me now, but the menu button sometimes won't work at all.

And what's up with the "liked" tally under user names? I don't see a like button...just curious.

Like button is in the body of the post, not at the bottom like it used to be. Check out the picture.

You are correct. I couldn't find a way to like either in the vB mobile interface. If you are using tapatalk, you can tap the post you like and it will pop up a menu that gives the like option.

Hey guys,

I will see if I can add one for the mobile version, I will have to ask my tech team first.

Thanks for letting me know Stormborn!

That'd be great, thanks! Tapatalk causes too many crashes to be worth the perks.

It's still not working for me I searched for "bears", IDEA (a homeschool support group), and Anchorage in the Alaska forum and this is all it would say....
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

I know that there are some posts with those words in them....any other advice?

Sorry I couldn't figure out the screen shot thing but copy/pasted my results. It says "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." This was in a search for "earthbag" from the search bar on the website. I'm using a new HP desktop and Google Chrome browser. I've gotten the same results with many other keywords also.

Okay, do you just get that message at the top of what looks like the advanced search screen?

Looks like the thumbnail below? (Only with a real search term, not gibberish. )

@verticalscope , I can confirm that I also got no results when searching for Anchorage in the Alaska forum. See the attachments which show my search results and a shot of the second forum index page showing two threads with Anchorage in their title. Both the Advanced Search and Search The Forum produced "Sorry - no matches" results. Perhaps our search index needs to be rebuilt?

Hopefully @verticalscope will be able to help us figure out what the issue is. As soon as we have a solution we'll let you know. In the meantime you can use the Google search option. When you hover your mouse over the little down arrow at the left side of the search box you'll have a Google option and a VB search option. Try the Google option as it is set to search Mothering.com using the search terms you place.
