Android phone - mobile version now breaking words in two

Recently the mobile version started breaking words off in the middle of sentences many times per post (instead of ending a line at the end of a word). It's quite difficult to read. I wondered if there had been an update to the mobile version lately? If so I can send you details of my phone etc.

Thanks for pointing this out! We did some updates last week and this looks like a bug that occurred during that process. Sending in to tech.

Case #2465350

Ya I can tell you did some updates. I get alot of 400 errors now (Bad requests)

I can still browse the site I just have to keep refreshing the page... (Same thing happens on a couple Xenforo sites I am on also)

What updates did you do Verticalscope?? - Im JUST CURIOUS WHY I AM GETTING 400 ERRORS (Bad request) NOW ON HERE WHEN I DIDNT USED TO... What did you change?? (It would help me if you would tell me,I AM NOT COMPLAINING I JUST WANT TO KNOW)

Like sometimes when I click the arrow to "READ FIRST UNREAD" I get a 400 error now (I just click refresh and it goes thru so Im not complaining,I just want to know (It might explain why it happens on Xenforo sites also))

I hope your not mad @ me..........

Are you getting these 404 requests with using your phone as well? Or are they happening on any platform?

Can you link me a page were you are seeing the error message? Anything specific

Kevin

Hey Dude111,

There were a couple updates added recently yes, including the mobile skin. In order to assist you better to provide a more definitive answer, could you give us more details?

Are you seeing these 404 error pages everywhere you navigate on the site or just on certain pages? I know you mentioned above sometimes you click on "Read Here First" when that error message will pop up but you refresh your page and everything is ok then. Besides that page, do you experience this anywhere else?

It might be the plugin update installed recently for the mobile skin but that is still being looked into so I can't confirm that as of yet. The initial issue reported from this thread regarding the broken words on the mobile site is currently being worked on and when that's sorted out, maybe the others issues will subside.

Until then, please provide the requested information so we can confirm it on our end.

Thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter.

Cheers,
Natalie

It could be that I suppose........

They are not 404 errors they are '400 - Bad Request' and YES usually if I just click in my address bar a 2nd time it will goto the page.....

Notice in my picture..... If I click in my address bar and press return that will go thru fine then...... When I goto submit a reply like this I also geta 400 error (It still posts my data though,I just gotta hit back and then goto the thread)

I wonder if it could also be a referrer problem with the new addons you put for mobile also affecting desktop...

Its curious......

Sorry, brain changed 400 to 404 when I read your post before.

Which browser is that? We do our best to keep the site working perfectly with older browsers, but there are limits to what we can do. It could be the mobile update, but it could also just as easily been a different update to a plugin or site security.

Kevin

Thanks!

We're looking into the mobile issues and breaking of words.

Once we have some more information on the issue and the fix we can update this thread.

Thanks,
- JB

Sorry, forgot to mention that. I don't believe we're going to be able to do anything to fix IE6. We're having a hard enough time making sure IE 11 stays compatible as it gets left behind for Edge. The only thing I can suggest is to try and get a more updated browser running and give that a try.

Wish I could be more help on that front.

Kevin

The mobile post preview still cuts off mid word.

IE6 was a horrific release. Microsoft asked people to stop using it years ago. It leaves you open to hacking too. Upgrade it!!! No company should have to support such old browsers.

I'm not seeing the break in lines anymore. Can you post a screenshot of what you see? Also, can you try clearing cookies and cache? Might need a fresh start for the correction to take effect.
