Hey I am Shannon

Liz you are definately not alone ... and I know where you are coming from with speaking your mind. One lady here was bashing me (why I have no idea) and I went to defend myself and the post got pulled... GO FIGURE

I guess what I dont understand is why they can not change the rules...do you think the points made are valid?

Yeah I understand why you have to have rules...especially in a free community like this. we don't want SPAM everywhere....

but, I think we could have gotten warning, I think everyone breaking this rule should face the same punishment: not only certain members, and I definately don't think bumping a thread or giving feedback should be counting against you.

Again, this is just so sad to me. I love this board, I have learned so much. I spend a couple of hours a day here reading. I feel like the only place I can contribute or help members out is the TP or the WAHM area. I wish I knew more about breastfeeding and vaxing, but I just don't. I thought by buying things from members here it was helping their financial situation. Or when someone posts that they need free clothes for a needy family...I thought I was contributing.

I don't know...again, I am just upset at the way this whole thing was done.

...thankyou for my numbers...thats not too bad...i was going to take a break anyways for a couple of weeks while i waite for my dipe stash from nz to get here...now i wont be able to sneak peeks at what im missing out on...so i guess thats ok. but you poor mamas who have hundreds and thousands.

..do accidental double.quadrupal posts count?(i mean on non tp posts) they should if bumps do...perhaps the moderators could wipe your records clean and give you a second chance now that everyone knows they need to keep an eye on their ratios?...i mean no one did this with the idea they were "getting away with it" type of attitude...

Well maybe now that it has been brought up they will look into changing the rules about the bumps counting or something like that.I understand why the rule is there , it makes sense.I think things just need to be tweeked a bit.I am pretty confident this will get straightened out. Until then I am too scared to go bump my TP thread :LOL

And I am a big baby that also cries everytime I get "in trouble"

perhaps now that this was brought to their attention (how much we bump TP posts or reply in them to questions whereas that is not as often done in other forums) they will take that into consideration. I know they are trying to keep everything in balance.

Yup I have confidence it will get worked out. Or is in the process of getting worked out.

Glad I am not the only one who is so sensitive

i totally understand the rules and can't say that i disagree. i do, however, wish that we were given a bit of forewarning. and i venture to say that this is arbitraty as, in no way, could every tp poster be "checked up on."

i really and truly don't post a lot of for sale items on the tp. if i had to guess, i'd say that i've made less than 20 postings of for sale items (not that i can check at this point, of course). looks like it's just best not to question another tp'er via the thread but pm them instead. i'm just a bit sad cause i was just really getting into mdc, feeling a connection with other mamas and venturing out into other forums.

you guys are so positive I really hope it does work out.

I had a really bad experience here and the mods were going to get back to me on it...and it was just forgotten about.

Again...I really do hope they will change the rules, and I am not angry at them personally, but the situation.

I have
kellie as needing 162 more
me as needing 131 more
jenny as needing 68 more
natesmommy as needing 218 more

binxsmom and Iluv your confuses me as I don't know your actual total, when I did it it didn't add up.

what you do.
I have 3735 total posts. 3735x.75=2801 is what I NEED to make the ratio even.2801-2670(what I actually have)=131 more posts that I need.

Yeah I am trying to be positive. I do like this community overall even tho I do feel policed on occasion, I see why. And I have found if I can stay positive, with a problem, USUALLY the person I have the problem with will work with me better if I stay "nice". Tho not always :LOL

Does editing an earlier post count as a new post? Will editing a post bump it up?
Thanks!

no, editing will not bump your post, and editing does not count against your posts.

OK I will try to clarify things a bit.

I searched the first 3 pages of both TP as well as the TP Diapers and looked at everyone's post counts. I have been continuing to do so.

Jeca, the method I gave is not as accurate as the one posted here (sorry I can not remember who it was.) It does not count for games and such. If you are questioning your post count, please PM and I will be using the new formula to be exact.

Many good points have been made and I will definately take them into consideration. I have no problem adjusting the rules as needed. What I was doing was carrying out the rules the way they are currently written.

Thanks to those of you that have been understanding and supportive (you know who you are ) I have received many PMs this evening but have had an extremely long and frustrating day today and tomorrow morning I have to have all 5 kids out of the house at 7:30am. I will get back to you but please bear with me as it will probably be tomorrow afternoon.
