nak

it represents the triple moon - waxing, full and waning moon, or maiden/mother/crone. indicates that the person is pagan.

Thanks for asking that, meowee... I just make stuff up. I thought it was either supposed to be an angel (head with wings) or .... uh, girl parts. ('Cause I've seen this: (i) to mean girl parts and I thought )O( was just a bigger version or maybe a head crowning? Ugh. See why it's better to just ask?!)

Yeah, a goddess symbol. I was really impressed that these cool women were putting that in their sigs. Cool like the women who perform in Vagina Monologs.

How cool, I'd vaguely wondered about the symbol, but I'm low down on the smiley learning curve, so I hadn't thought too seriously about it. Paganism and Wicca and all that fascinates me, pity I lack faith (in anything).

nothing more to say I guess :

I changed mine on another site to _)|)()O()(|(_ or the full breakdown the phases after what someone else mentioned it reminded them of.

I won't inflict the concept on the rest of you. )O( is more elegant.

Ooo I thought it was a symbol of being angry - like eyebrows frowning somehow. *shrug*

lol, well the Goddess, moon phases, and girly bits do follow a theme

Wow, that's really cool!

Now, does this meaning hold outside of MDC?

I can totally see the belly button now, though.

I always thought it was a kiss. The waxing/full/waning meaning is much better.
