I can't post the actual quote, it's against the UA.
Tone is one of those things that just doesn't come across very well in the written language.

I don't want anybody to feel like they don't belong in the S&T forum. I don't own it and neither do any of the other frequent posters. I let the mods do their job of moving posts if they are in the wrong spot. I really think any picture belongs in S&T regardless of the type of diaper. I'm confused as to why it was moved (it was...right?). I did see the pic and I think it is absolutely adorable. I wish I could see more pics like that. I am so sorry somebody's feeling were hurt, I truly am. So can we just say that we all agree that it was a crappy thing that happened, but the "hyenas" are not all to blame. I can't take responsibility for every other poster here at MDC, but I can promise I'll do everything I can to make all diapering moms feel welcomed. Please don't make broad generalizations based on the actions of a few.

I don't like the turn this thread has taken. The sarcasm is hurtful and the little slips of the $$ are equally as hurtful.

I'm not sure what to say. I wash every 2-3 days, probably two dozen diapers, and I used to post in Diapering with my "Hard Water, No Stink" routine.

Yeah, but I don't buy that that's what hyenas would do. They couldn't stand alllll the new diapers that'd come out between now and then.

I haven't , in any of my posts I don't think, because I've tried very hard not to. Nor have I been sarcastic. It was an actual quote she received in response to her pic, not a generalization.

Or was that statement meant towards the general audience?

as we can all see...every family has their own needs. Establishing what is "enough" for every family would be difficult at best. I used to be able to do laundry whenever I pleased, now I use a laundromat and I have to wash weekly. My family truly does need more diapers. Tomorrow is wash day and I only have 3 diapers left. Being a one car family can be really difficult. If you saw my stash and made judgements about me based on its size you'd be missing a huge portion of the picture.

I think that is the kind of generalization that we're trying to avoid.

No, I'm not "them," but I'm also not an idiot-- check out the various "I already have too many diapers but I HAD to have this!!!" threads. Definitely shows me that for a lot of people, it's not about conservation at all, and arguments to the contrary... fall a little flat.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't get all excited every time a new diaper comes out. I would be happy using just prefolds, but Maddie will not let me put them on her. She screams when I get near her with a prefold. So I use fitteds and wool wraps. I don't have any diapers just sitting around, I sell them or store them for the next babe if I cannot use them any longer. I have formed relationships with the few wahms I buy diapers from and that's special to me, so I go back to them when I need something.

edited because there was a red thumb icon...i have no idea how that happened...
