did all of the above, and it didn't work. I even defragged when I didn't have to according to the check....

quick reply doesn't work,

and always has the errors on page sign at bottom now.

Sometimes margins don't align until everything else is in place.

Tried doing an advanced search for "camp" in title under Finding Your Tribe in FL, GA and said "no matches" although I found one from Sept-Oct 05.

I've clicked on post reply.

Bother sides are totally empty, no smilies, no nothing else.

Below are the icons for the messages, and that's it.

In order to get smilies I have to go down to the bottom and open a new box, or crank the memory and try to remember.

I have no formatting, no nothing.

So now I click on Preview post and....

Still nothing.

I'm on another board which has the latest version of VB, and have all the bells and whistles there, but not here.

BUT>>>>

This is not a change from what I had before. I just assumed that Mothering was happy to stay with the old version and that what I saw before was what everyone saw as well.

From other people's comments I'm gathering that what I see isn't what others have seen in the past.

Given that I have already know what the latest version is, and use that using my current browser, I can only assume that its something to do with the constant error triangle in bottom right hand corner.

Not that I care much, as I'm used to working in stone age land.

Just : me somewhat to think that others have bells and whistles and I don't : s u c k i n g thumb here...

Yes, I noticed that problem with the search function, too, even before the upgrade. I have done everything suggested above (completely logged out, cleared my cache, didn't use my bookmark but actually typed www.mothering.com/discussions into my address bar, etc.), and I am still having this same problem. I just searched for something in Nutrition and Good Eating that I *know* should be there (I posted it!) and it's not pulling anything up after 2003.

I sometimes set my replies for here here, in a PM reply box at Timebomb, preview it and copy and paste the resultant post here.

I do that when redoing my sigs as well, since its easier... so I'm assuming that that's what everyone else sees, and I don't. But I've just got used to jury-rigging.

Funny upgrade Cynthia.

Sounds like all you've done is paid for a barrel-load of t-r-u-b-b-l-e!

Or rolling pin on frontal lobotomy, whichever is the most effective.

I haven't read this whole thread so I apologize if I'm repeating some issues.

Quick reply is only working part of the time for me.

Some post counts seem to be wrong. I have seen a couple people that it says have 0 posts, even though I was reading one of their posts.

I guess I should add I use Firefox.

Quick Reply doesn't work for me, and in the regular "reply to thread" box none of the message buttons work except "submit reply" and "peview post." I really mis the "url" button. Also, there are no ads. The browser I use is Safari.

I'm using IE and I have no banner ads either. Also, I have to keep opening the [More] or dropdown smilie box because they close after I make a post. Am I missing something here about how to keep them open in a window at the bottom of my screen? Having to reopen each time is proving quite time consuming. Couldn't really tell what was off about the siggies but now I see the closeness issue.

So the Search function is still acting wacky eh? I've also tried clearing my history, logging out, etc. No go...

MT what browser are you using? If it's not Internet Explorer, please try that and see if it helps.

However I am quite enjoying the fasterness that MDC has acquired from the upgrades!

To all with search issues, try using Internet Explorer. The new system seems to have some issues with Mozzila.

I have IE, and still have search issues... But they did technically start before the upgrade, like the PP said.

Cynthia is aware of that and she's working on it - we did let her go to sleep though after a day of upgrading

I'm thinking it may be an issue with your machine then. Do you have access to anther machine to try?

Just FYI, when I say "before the upgrade," I mean like a day or two, not forever. It has worked for me, say a week or two ago.

Thanks, the issues a day or two before may have be due to the crashes we had.

I've emailed Cynthia and together we'll try to tackle these problums. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Just adding that I - a Firefox user- am also seeing searches that stop at 2003. It did not happen before the upgrade. Thanks for keeping this huge board running though!

I got logged out during a reply, so I wasn't able to post it becauce I got a "You are not logged on or...." message. Then when I logged on it gave me an "invalid thread" window.

Fortunately I just copied the reply and went back and posted it.

I also need a new bookmark, but imagine that my bookmark will work again then.

I think I'm being timed out, but I'm not sure. I keep having to log in when I go to respond to a post. But I've already logged in and haven't closed the browser window or even gotten out of MDC.
