I don't mind paying a small fee if I have the PP, and *if* there is enough traffic to the new/old TP that my stuff has a chance of selling, yk? Like lots of others have said, I have stuff up (and more to list) that seems like it would fly off the old-style TP but isn't doing diddly on the new one. LN Hannas? Stride Rite shoes? I mean, c'mon? It's just frustrating to pay to have no one even look at your ad.

Another thanks to Cynthia and Peggy and the other powers-that-be for listening to us.

I'll second that!

I had a listing in the new TP, but no offers, so I listed the same items on craigslist and they sold THE SAME DAY.

What is the purpose of the fee? To bring in revenue, or offset costs? What if there was a separate and new forum/website for the trading post? Would it be allowed to be linked here?

I'd be happy to pay the fee but the old system was SO SO SO much better so I do really hope it returns. I bought there all the time and now I never go (which is good for my budget really!!).

I also like the suggestion of bringing back the old skool TP for gently used items, and keeping the new system for new, handmade goods.

I miss the old TP!!

I just posted an ad on there about a half an hour ago and it was posted under a name I've never seen before. So if anyone does happen to go on there and sees an ad for a skin-to-skin shirt, pm me and not the person on the ad. Thanks. Also, is there any way to fix that, or do I have to make a new ad? I pmed the moderator and I'm waiting for a response. If anyone can tell me what I can do before I get a response, please do. Thanks.

ETA: Never mind, it got deleted.

Yup, I seriously miss the old TP. It used to be the first place I would go every day and I bought/sold sooo much on there. I listed 3 things on the new TP, haven't bought a single one, and seriously dislike the format.

I also miss the old TP - there was a period of time when I think ALL of dd's clothes and diapers came from there.

I miss it - the new one is confusing.

ITA. All of DS diapers are from the old TP and most of DDs clothes came from the old TP as well.

Am I the only one who can't find the new TP? I found it when there was a sticky when it was new and it has been MIA since.

And I really miss the ISO forum. I live in an itty bitty rural town and lots of times I want to post a add that I need things.

Just chiming in-- in agreement and support. I love the idea that was proposed about reverting back to the old TP, and then using the current TP for handcrafted items. That would be fabulous.

Can the admins talk a little more about why there would be a charge for posts if we went back to the old method? I thought the reason for charging for the new TP was that it cost money to purchase the system. Thanks!

I thought so too. I believe that that was said in an old thread about the TP, here, in this part of the forum.

Yes, it was my impression that the new system would cost more money, hence the fees. If the old forum were brought back, why would there need to be fees? Is the next step charging fees to post in "Babywearing" or "Life with a Babe" or "Parents as Partners" or "TAO"?

I know this has been expressed before, but I'm getting impatient and annoyed with the various money-making schemes that MDC keeps adopting...the Google ads, the "MDC supporter" subscriptions, the new TP, etc. The site keeps getting more and more commercial. I love it here, it's my go-to site for information and education and entertainment and camaraderie, and if I ever get any money in my PayPal account (which isn't looking likely with the new TP system! ) I'll become a pink supporter, but...I don't like the mercenary trend.

Count me in as one that preferred the old style of trading post. I've visited the new trading post but it seems like things don't move there so I'm not motivated to list some items that I'd like to move out of my house.

I really miss the old tp! Have tried and do not like the new one. The giving forum was great and it was like holiday helper all year. Thanks for looking at this.

It was such a great way to learn about cd's and carriers and find affordable used ones.
