Hey, I saw it, too, just by chance. I have been avoiding that channel like the plague because everything seemed to be about crisis interventions and inductions. But I was flipping through and saw it. I proceeded with caution, though. I DVR'd it to keep since it was such a beautiful show.
I just had my home water birth 12 days ago and watching it flooded me with so much emotion (in a good way). I cried when that little one was born. She said something about how in the middle of labor she actually thought to herself, "I thought I'd actually be quiet in labor." I laughed so hard because I remember thinking the exact same thing when I was pushing : )
I wish there were more shows like that. It might help take away some of the negative assumptions made about homebirth. Ironically, the husband's mother in the show is a nurse - same thing in my situation. My DH's mother is a retired trauma nurse and it took her awhile to come around. She's so glad we stuck to our guns.
Glad a few others saw the show as well.
