Somebody on one of my other boards just brought up the subject of afterpains. Youch! I forgot all about these. One of the other posters - pg with #8 said that with #7 she drank her RRL every day, drinking a quart per day the last 4-6 weeks and continuing to drink it PPD. Does RRL help with afterpains? She is giving me hope but I don't want it to be false hope. I would like to know what other RRL drinkers have experienced.
Thanks,
Keri

I'll be giving birth to #2 in the next few weeks, and my midwife recommended a tincture called "Afterease". I purchased it from the Moonflower health catalog for 7.60 and I'm hoping it will work... I jokingly asked if she'd just give me Demerol or some other serious pain-relieving drug. I could go for a nice buzz after natural childbirth! LOL

can someone tell me what's in "Afterease?" I had no pains after my 1st, barely noticeable ones after my 2nd, but after#3 -- whoa! I'm hoping for a 4th but don't want to hit the Tylenol bottle if I can help it. Thanks.

My midwife gave me "afterease" after baby #5 and it helped so much. I had had to resort to Tylenol with codeine a few times after baby #3 & #4 due to afterpains W-A-Y worse than the labor that lasted for a week. I didn't have to even take a Tylenol after baby #5, so that's saying something, b/c the pains usually get worse, not better!

thanks for the info, ladies!

Mom2five, it was a rather humbling experience for me...the afterpains after #3. I'd laughed and rolled my eyes when the midwife asked about pains following #1 and #2. "Pains? What pains?" I couldn't imagine that anyone would need Tylenol after birth. Ate my words after #3 when I found myself bent over, and not being able to talk through a pain.

I have had terrible afterpains with #2 and 3, I tried everything
including lots of RRL and afterease tincture, I ended up
taking some tylenol after # 3
