Well I have been laboring since 9 pm last night. Things got really intense then fizzled out. Contractions come and go some intense some not. They are getting back down to every 20 minutes. I am very discouraged! I know this is normal but it feels so unnormal! Any similar stories? I want to meet my Willow soon!

Oh yeah, my first and last were like that, 56 hours and 32 hours of piddling contractions. (That kept me awake at night, even so.)

Just remember that often there is a very good reason that the labor is progressing slowly, either emotional or physiological. Your body is doing exactly what it needs to be doing for the labor to be as normal as possible. I know it's hard to be patient though! My advice is to just ignore the labor and go on about your regular routine. Have no expectations and do whatever you can to relax and pamper yourself and just enjoy these hours of transition.

By the way, I have a Willow too!

something you might want to try...cotton tincture. a friend of mine took it and delivered soon afterwards. But other than that, sweetwater is right on the money. wait it out and try not to lose heart.
and BTW, i have a willow too!!! good luck.

Officially my labor started on Wednesday and didn't finish until Sunday. Thank goodness we had a midwife or else I would have been induced sometime on Thursday. Hang in their girlfriend. You can do it. Just do things that make you feel comfortable. A bath or shower can do wonders...Good luck to ya babe.
