I moved and have to find a new midwife which is stressful. I loved my old one.

Anyways, how many babies would you like a MW to have delivered to feel comfortable with her? Would 150 be enough?

Thanks

I assume you mean a homebirth MW. Does this person have other qualifications or credentials? 150 births would not be enough for me, I don't think.

Mama to five babies. The newest one made her debut 7.10.12!

Yes I mean a homebirth midwife. She is a CPM.  9 years as labor assistant and doula, and then 9 years as Midwife and Doula Assisted Births (Home, Birth Center, and Hospital). She only accepts certain number of births per month which is her reason that her births are low. I am assuming the 150 number is where she actually delivered them. I am going to ask how many she attended or has been student midwife at.

150 isn't a bad number IMO, it would just depend on other factors such as her training, references, how I clicked with her, etc.

I agree with dogmom.  I don't even ask how many they've caught.  I know the CPM standard has a requirement for number of births attended.  Beyond that my main concern is personality and that we're on the same page as far as needs.

My son was #39 for the CPM who caught my son. She did a wonderful job! If you click with the MW and trust her and her judgements, I don't think it matters if she's done 150 or 1,500...
