Has anyone had success with it? Midwifery is listed as one of the acceptable expenses. We have a debit card for the account and plan on just paying her and getting an official receipt, but is there a better way to go about it?

Newly SAHM to DD - 11/30/06 and DS - 1/3/10 * 10 week loss 10/13/11 * Cautiously expecting a September Surprise

We did it. No problems. We paid with a check and submitted the receipt. I had to submit a letter that in Oregon MW's are qualified medical providers for birth services but that was it.

We haven't submitted yet, but I contacted our company and got it in writing that homebirth with a CPM is a qualified expense. I did this before we signed up to have the money taken from my husband's checks (our sign up is in the fall). It was just too big of a chunk of money to gamble on.

Call your Flex Spending company and see how they want to handle it.

we've been paying my MW with the flex spending debit card (can run as a CC) and the midwife just charges it. I would just pay directly with the card and get a receipt just in case. any reason not to have the MW just take directly from the account? we've had no problems, no questions.
