Hello and welcome to Mothering.com. Homebirth is the most affordable care option for mothers wishing to give birth in the US without insurance. In NJ I imagine a homebirth costs between $3,000-6,000. Your wife will want to start looking for a midwife as soon as she arrives because they sometimes fill up spaces for new clients. After you arrive you may also look into options for insurance from the state. Often times infants (and pregnant women) are given insurance to those families that don't have insurance. Good luck on your move!
