I gave birth to my son (a waterbirth) at home on July 2nd at 8:10 am. I posted earlier about my midwife forcing an US on me b/c of concerns about the baby's growth... He weighed in at 7 lbs and was 19 1/2 in. long-- a little bigger than my daughter was. It was a wonderful experience. After 5 hours of labor and about 30 minutes of pushing (I think-- it's kind of a blur ), with just a small tear at the site of my episiotomy (from my horrible hospital birth w/ dc #1)... it was a beautiful, exhilerating experience. My midwives were great and I feel very blessed. I drank tons of Raspberry Leaf tea throughout my pregnancy and I'm crediting it w/ making this labor far less painful than my first w/ only mild after-pains. Yay for homebirth!!
