Man, if there isn't one of EVERYTHING on YouTube, I don't know....

: Snakes on a Homebirth

Weird, but funny. Some mild explicit words.

All I can say to that video is WOW. That'll convince my dh that it's okay to homebirth!

I'm sorry but that really cracked me up. Not sure why I thought it was so funny. I had to share it with DH too. He likes random s*** like that. Thanks!

I thought that part was awesome. Nice and subtle.

I like it too when the hubby/partner says if you wanted a cervical check you should have gone to the hospital. For some reason, my pregnant brain thinks its so funny.

Yeah, I don't know - just seems too out there for me.

But, I'm glad some other people got a laugh out of it.

And y/k - it really should be called Snakes on a UC, since she didn't want a midwife there either.

Very funny. The bear and cigarettes were comentary on people who go to the hospital "because they are worried about baby" and then do stupid other crap I think.

I think the whole thing was supposed to be a spoof on the rediculous or irrational fears people have of homebirth.

That was very, very odd, and very, very funny.

Also obviously a spoof of the upcoming film called, I kid you not, "Snakes on a Plane". Starring Samuel L. Jackson.

But isn't it still a homebirth b/c I'm not seeing the difference...Not to be a trouble maker ---I just don't see the distinction in this instance. Snakes on a UC doesn't really have the same parallel to the movie I suppose

A homebirth is a birth that takes place at home, no matter who it is, or isn't, attended by.

That's what I thought. Not quite my kind of humor but it was kinda funny.

It coulda been funnier (i.e. maybe snakes showing up randomly throughout the filming, unbeknownst to the couple). But I really liked the ending.

Sorry for the delayed response. I just now saw this and thought it was funny! OMG. Especially the ending. "Get these Mother F_________ snakes off of my Mother F_______ homebirth!" : and when the snakes are falling on her "SEE! I told you we should've gone to the hospital!" : Too funny! A bit odd, yes. It was really funny though and completely making fun of people's irrational fears about homebirth. I love it. I wish we could find out about their actual homebirth. They are a funny couple. The whole thing was just...funny.

They are actually good friends of mine. I was her doula at the actual birth. : The funny thing is that she actually went into labor a couple of hours after filming this.

I love, loved, LOVED this. I thought it was absolutely hilarious. And love how much it's poking fun at people's irrational fears on homebirths.

Will you tell them congratulations from all of us and thanks for making such a funny quirky homebirth video! Was this their first baby? And did the birth go well? Were there any emergencies? Like, maybe some red ants came and started stinging her to death during her homebirth?

Yes, I live in MO, which sometimes feels like no-mans land for homebirth.
She has a great sense of humor. She is a member here, so I will see if she will post about her birth and tell you a little more about the video.
