thanks mamas for all the help..

I had my midwife appt today and it actually went pretty well..

turns out the OB is a personal friend of the head of the midwifry practice. They said waterbirth will not be an issue, and the midwives should be able to catch the babies if all goes well, possibly even DH... they said they will discuss the prospect of a homebirth with each other (the two head midwives) and if we are all comforatable with it, we will not rule it out...

I am much more optomistic now

I am so happy to hear this -- I hope that you get the birth you want! If it can be hassle-free and close to home (or at home) all the better.

I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread....or use this one...so I am going to try and use this one first ...and I didn't see any info in here related to the Lansing are, so...

I am in the Lansing area and getting rather frustrated looking for a midwife : . There don't appear to be any near me. I spoke to one of the midwives I knew of in the Ann Arbor area and she was not interested in driving to Lansing for the birth. The midwife that I used before (Rosalyn Tulip--who I really liked) is apparently not really practicing anymore, but I have left a message with her..I am not very confident that I will get a call back though...so I am starting to look around in case I don't, does anyone know of anyone who might come to Lansing?!

I lived in Flint for my other two births and had quite a few to choose from that would travel there....but Lansing seems to be dry.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have any contact information for Laura Slater? We're planning a homebirth, and I would just like to interview a few midwives before choosing.
