Has anyone used a birthing skirt/Binsi -- during a water birth or labor? Are they useful? How is it in the water? Thank you!

My birthing outfit wasn't the Binsi, but my own version of it ~ A black knit tank top with shelf bra and a black above-the-knee sort-of-flouncy knit skirt. I wasn't sure how much I would keep on in the pool. I figured the skirt was flowy enough that it would probably float up and allow easy access, but I never tested the theory. When it came time to get in, I hesitiated but ended up ditching the skirt (at my husband's encouragement). Truthfully, I didn't much care at that point who saw what, and it just seemed like it would be in the way.
