So last night after our birth class, DH said how much he wished we were having a home birth! We have been planning a water birth at the local small hospital. It's a totally fine place and I'm fine with going there.

I have been interested in home birth, but he was uncomfortable with it, until now!

I am 35 weeks tomorrow, is it too late?! We have a doula who works at a home birth midwifery practice and she is checking with them to see if they have time.

Has anyone switched so late in your pregnancy?

Thanks!

I switched at 28 weeks with my son and it wasn't a problem. I think the biggest issue (assuming you've had a normal low risk pregnancy) would be if they have the space. I'd also worry a little about making sure you and your husband feel comfortable with the midwife(s) (although I had never met the midwife who delivered my son and it turned out great).

Happy SAHM Mom and CBE to three jumpers.gifboys:  DS1 (11/06), DS2 (7/08), DS3 (11/10) and D?4 (12/12)!

I have known of ladies who planned a hospital birth and switched after 40 weeks! It is not too late until the baby is already born! I highly recommend home birth, you won't believe the difference for the better it makes. Do have a homebirth...
