Just curious! I see mostly ladies that went 41 weeks plus in the other thread. Are there also a lot of you that went early?

Also, if you went early, did your C/S baby come early, too? I noticed a lot of you were induced because you were "overdue", resulting in the original section. So it makes sense to me that you'd go past your due date with a VBAC.

My first was a section at 39 weeks, and I did labor some. Just kind of hoping this little guy comes next week at around 39 weeks.

Thanks for any replies!

I did (after lengthy predomal labor). We were just barely at the 37 day mark (by a couple hours, if I remember correctly. ). Baby was 7.5 and in terrific health, though, 'fully cooked'. I went into labor at 39 & a couple days with my c section birth; labored for a couple days before they cut me. I must say, I was relieved both that my VBAC baby was born AFTER 36 weeks (after all that predomal labor I was on edge about him coming early) AND that he didn't make it to ''overdue''. LOL. Not bc I believe that babies SHOULDN'T, but bc it made it easier for ME not having to get into the stupid politics of ''too early--too late'' dates when I was already dealing with the stupid politics of having a VBAC in America anyway.

Didn't go into labor with my C/S at 41w2d but had DS2 UBAC at 38wks (labor started 37w4d).

I'm a firm believer of mental blocks stopping labor.

My c-section (due to breech) was scheduled and I had no labor. It was at 39 weeks. I went into labor on my own with my VBAC baby at 39.5 weeks.

Thanks for sharing, ladies! It was getting a little discouraged looking at the other thread seeing all the 41 weeks + VBAC's. Not that I wouldn't be perfectly patient if that were my situation, haha. It's just nice to be able to guess approximately when he will come out and see us!

Just had a VBAC last week, at 36w5d. : My c-section was at 37w3d. Went into labor on my own for both. The hospital has a policy of not augmenting labor for a preemie (mine was very slow, so they weren't convinced it was "real"). That policy really helped ensure a VBAC!

I'm in the same boat as you. I went into labor with DD1 at 39 weeks, then ended up with a c/s after she went into distress. I'm hoping this one comes early too. My midwife has the belief that if the first one came early, then this one will probably come early too.

I'm 35 weeks and 2 days right now. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Cat (30) DH (30) Carissa Grace born 11/3/07 via c/s after fetal distress. Sophia Claire born 10/9/09 VBAC!

Mostly I think it is because women who gestate for longer than 40 weeks are more likely to be coerced into an induction for a first baby which fails and leads to a c-section meaning that a higher than average proportion of women attempting to vbac are likely longer gestators than average and therefore will likely gestate for longer than 40 weeks on their vbac`s as well.

Section with #1- labor started spontaneously at 39w, 4d. Baby born 39w, 5d
VBAC with #2- labor started at 37w,4d baby born 38w exactly (yea, 3 days of hard labor.....)

Both kids were over 8 lbs, though #2 was about 8 oz larger.

W (26) and C (27) parenting G (11/06 ) and D (2/09 ) plus a new one (3/11)

My failed induction (induced and baby just plain old wasn't ready and not a darn reason to really induce) was at 39w2d. My VBAC was at 37w4d! So, while I wasn't "late" for #1 (my c/s), and I wasn't "early" for #2 (my VBAC)...my VBAC, in which I went into labor completely on my own was 2 weeks earlier than my body was even considering going into labor the first time!

Me (30), DH (31), DS (3.5 yrs - 5/07), DD (1.5 yr - 2/09) via VBAC!!! DS (newborn - 11/10) via natural VBAC! 2 angel babies - 06/06 & 04/08

My c-section was at 29+3 - emergency c-section due to baby becoming distressed after over 24hrs contractions.

My VBAC was at 32 + 4 - from start to finish only 2hrs57mins, I am so happy that I had a VBAC and got to spend such precious time with my daughter, as sadly she passed away after a long stay in Nicu at 22 weeks old.

Me and hubby, plus ds 6, angel dd, little mc angels and finally our little rainbow baby, 30 weeker miracle.

I'm not sure about that (or rather, about how much effect that has) because of the number of CS done electively, which are done at 39 weeks and skew the average. My CS was emergent, not in labor, 37+5.

The other theory I've heard is that VBACs who did not labor with their first dilate and labor like primips, complete with going late.

My c/s was at 42+ weeks (started labor on my own, no medical induction)

My first vbac babe arrived more or less spot on my 40 EDD. So not "early" according to the textbooks, but early for me!

(my 2nd vbac was a 42 weeks babe too so that first vbac is still my earliest)

My CS was after a failed induction at 38w 2days (induction was started at 38weeks). With my VBAC, I went into labor at 38wks 6days and he was born the next day at 39 weeks. I hope this one comes a week early too!

- scheduled c-section for breech at 39w0d, no labor
- vbac #1, twins 33w3d
- vbac #2, 39w0d
- vbac #3, 38w0d
- vbac #4, 38w4d (or was it 38w3d - it was only three months ago and I can't remember though I think my due date was off by at least three days, so it was probably "really" 38w0d or 37w6d)

good luck!
