I have had 6 kids, and #6 was my emergency c/s (it was a justified one, I'll just say that without giving all the gory details).
I'm pregnant with #7 and wondering if my status with many pregnancies is going to make me less favorable to the docs in order to VBAC. For various reasons (past complications in deliveries) I'm not comfortable with HBAC so I am confined to the medical community to handle this pregnancy :).
Just looking for experiences of those who have BTDT before and what they were told, if it was even an issue to take into consideration...
Mom of 7, ages 13, 12, 9, 7, 5, 4, and 2.5!
My BFF was in your shoes recently. She had had 4 normal births before needing a csec. She planned a HBAC for #6. The midwives has no issues with accepting her, so hopefully you can find an OB who'll be on board with you. One thing you have going for you is a proven pelvis...times 5! :)
I am not entirely sure. THis is my 6th pregnancy and I plan on another VBAC. Unfortunately, I won't know how that will really go until 34-36 weeks when I transfer to the OB instead of the family practice doctor. I don't see WHY it should really matter.
Hi Christine!! Congrats on #7 :) I am not sure about your question either, but your odds of success should be quite high with 5 vaginal births under your belt. I'd be surprised if grand multips were contraindicated.
(6), (4.5), (2) and IT'S A !!!! ~9/24/12~
In my opinion as a student midwife I see no reason why you shouldn't vbac, however, I'm just a student and I'm also studying to be a homebirth midwife and see birth as a normal process.
I don't see why you shouldn't be a VBAC mom.
